Skin & laser

Laser, done carefully on skin of colour

The wrong laser on richly pigmented skin can burn or trigger long-lasting pigmentation. We use appropriate wavelengths, conservative settings and a patch test — every time.

What it addresses

Concerns we treat with laser & energy devices

  • Acne scarring and uneven texture
  • Enlarged pores and dullness
  • Fine lines and early skin laxity
  • Facial redness, flushing and thread veins
  • Selected pigmentation and sun damage
  • Unwanted hair (laser hair reduction)
  • Some scars and stretch marks

A test patch 1–2 weeks before your first full treatment lets us confirm your skin’s response and fine-tune settings safely.

What to expect

Before, during & after

  1. Preparation

Avoid sun and self-tan for 2–4 weeks. You may be asked to pre-treat with a pigment-suppressing cream. Patch test performed.

  2. Treatment session

Cooling and numbing as needed. Sessions run 15–45 minutes with a warm, prickling sensation. Courses of 3–6 are typical.

  3. Healing

Redness and mild swelling for 1–3 days; some treatments cause light flaking. Strict sun protection is essential afterwards.

  4. Results

Build over weeks to months as collagen remodels. We review between sessions and adjust the plan.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is laser safe for my skin tone?

With the right device and settings, yes. We assess your skin type, always patch test, and choose conservative parameters to protect against burns and pigmentation.

How many sessions will I need?

Most concerns need a course of 3–6, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, then occasional maintenance.

Is there downtime?

Usually 1–3 days of redness. More intensive resurfacing can mean up to a week of visible healing — we’ll tell you exactly what to expect for your plan.

Can I have it in the sunny season?

Yes, but you must commit to daily SPF and sun avoidance. Recent tan is a reason to postpone.
