Clear the breakouts. Then soften the scars.
A two-part approach: first bring active acne under control with medical treatment, then address texture and marks with in-clinic procedures chosen to be safe on deeper skin.
Acne, at every stage
- Teenage and persistent adult acne
- Hormonal and jawline breakouts
- Blackheads, congestion and enlarged pores
- Cystic and nodular acne
- Back and chest acne
- Post-inflammatory marks (dark spots) after breakouts
- Rolling, boxcar and icepick acne scars
Marks and scars are different problems. Dark spots usually fade with a pigment-focused regimen; true scars need collagen-remodelling procedures.
How treatment usually runs
Weeks 0–2 · Assessment & start
Grading of your acne, review of triggers and skincare, and a prescription plan — topical, oral, or both.
Weeks 2–12 · Control
Regular reviews to fine-tune medication and add gentle in-clinic peels to speed clearance and fade marks.
Months 3–6 · Maintenance
Step medication down to the minimum that keeps skin clear, and protect results with sunscreen and a simple routine.
From month 6 · Scar revision
Once acne is stable, begin microneedling, subcision, TCA CROSS or laser — usually a course, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
Procedures for acne scarring
Microneedling & RF
Controlled micro-injury stimulates new collagen to smooth rolling scars and refine texture.
Subcision
A fine needle releases the tethered bands that pull tethered scars downward.
TCA CROSS
Pinpoint application of a focused peel agent to rebuild the base of narrow icepick scars.
Fractional laser
Resurfacing with conservative settings selected for darker skin to limit pigment risk.
Medical peels
Series of peels to accelerate cell turnover and fade post-acne pigmentation.
Prescription topicals
Retinoids and pigment inhibitors to support and maintain in-clinic results at home.
Frequently asked
How long until I see a difference?
Most people notice fewer new breakouts by 6–8 weeks. Marks fade over 3–6 months. Scar-revision results build over several months as collagen remodels.
Is treatment safe for dark skin?
Yes — with the right approach. We favour gentler, staged treatment and conservative device settings, because aggressive treatment on richly pigmented skin can trigger more pigmentation.
Do I need to stop my current skincare?
Bring everything you use to the consultation. We’ll usually simplify your routine and remove anything that’s irritating your skin.
Can I have scar treatment while still breaking out?
Generally no. Active inflammation needs to settle first, or new scars can form. We’ll tell you when your skin is ready.
